This IT Building Technologies Specialist is responsible for daily support of a complex Audio Visual, Video conferencing, physical security, sound masking and paging, low voltage wiring, conferencing room lighting, and shade control systems to ensure high availability, reliability, and usability. Along with providing daily support of existing systems this specialist assists in the design and installation of upgrades to existing and new systems by working with internal and external staff by researching new related technologies, assisting in the design changes and installing the equipment.

How You'll Contribute

  • General AV Meeting Room Support, Video conferencing systems support, physical security system (security cameras & card access system) support, low voltage wiring support, and sound masking & paging systems support.
  • Ensures high availability and reliability of systems by performing regular preventative room and system checks, ensuring all equipment functions correctly in accordance with the room and system check procedures
  • Provides AV equipment setup, support and operation along with Presentation / multi-media meeting room support, including duration support when required.
  • Ensure that all equipment faults are reported in the correct way and resolved in a timely manner and assisting in the repair of the systems.
  • Ensure AV rooms and equipment are presentable, tidy, safe and hazard free and all cables are secured and tidy
  • Assist with support for video / audio conferencing systems. Investigate faults, recommends and performs further actions to rectify and eliminate future faults.
  • Assist with design, programing, and installation of new AV, Video conferencing, and Security systems
  • Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge
  • Tracks performance and reliability of AV, Video conferencing, and Security systems
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by management

What You'll Bring

  • Knowledge of Audio visual room systems – Crestron, Extron, etc.
  • Knowledge of Video conference room systems – Cisco, Skype, etc.
  • Ability to think critically to produce creative solutions to difficult problems
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex problems and take swift corrective action to solve the problem
  • Experience in an enterprise environment, including adhering to standards, testing, and documentation.
  • Excellent communication, organization and prioritization skills
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients and employees
  • Ability to design infrastructure layouts, AV control schematics, rack elevations and various details as needed
  • Communicate and coordinate technical design solutions with clients, installation teams and vendors
  • Hands-on experience with electronic security systems (i.e. access control, security camera, intrusion detection)
  • Basic network/telecommunications knowledge (fiber, CAT-5, RJ45 connectors)
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • BS degree in technical field or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years’ experience with AV & VC room support
  • 4+ years’ experience in installation, configuration, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting IT building technology projects.

Preferred Experience:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Crestron, AMX, and/or Extron design and programming knowledge
  • Background in music and/or acoustics preferred
  • Knowledge Low Voltage wiring, physical security system
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet time lines, requirements, and budgets
