    The Director, Agile Practices contributes to the success of CHG Healthcare by leading the advancement of agile principles, practices and methodologies. The role of the Director, Agile Practices is to lead efforts around establishing, coaching, educating and evangelizing agile practices at CHG, specifically by leading our team of scrum masters, supporting their role as coaches to their teams.     • Coach and lead the scrum master team in practicing Agile principles and leading practices, identifies and implements individual and team training opportunities

    • Work collaboratively with the IT leadership team in all areas, including: IT strategy, IT capital & expense budgets, resource management, process improvement and project priorities
    • Is part of the IT Leadership Team and is actively involved in all aspects of the IT department
    • Create and maintain staffing plans; collaborating with other IT departments on resource allocation. Make recommendations to senior IT management regarding internal and external staffing needs
    • Establish and continually improve upon agile best practices to enable all scrum teams to deliver the highest valued features as timely as possible
    • Seek feedback from other IT leaders and business leaders on scrum masters’ performance to aid in coaching and development plans
    • Seek feedback from key stakeholders on effectiveness of the scrum teams to aid in continuous improvement of our agile process and best practices
    • Work closely with the scrum masters as they lead multiple scrum teams in building and delivery of technology solutions
    • Identify key performance indicators and metrics that will create transparency into the execution excellence of our scrum teams.
    • Mentor less-experienced scrum masters on agile methodologies (specifically Scrum), tools and processes
    • Serves as an escalation point for issues, risk mitigation, etc. Remove impediments for the scrum masters and their teams
    • Works with scrum masters to identify cross-team dependencies to ensure proper planning and considerations are made to effectively deliver our technology solutions
    • Other duties as assigned by management

    Your role.

    • Strong understanding of agile methodologies with a strong emphasis in scrum with proven track record in leading/managing scrum masters to build and deliver solutions in an agile environment
    • Proven experience in implementing agile methodologies into organizations and improving team execution through agile practices
    • A strong track record of effectively leading multiple teams in an agile transformation
    • Must be able to adapt to the CHG culture and lead through CHG Core Values
    • Proven track record for building and developing motivated and productive teams
    • Strong leadership skills including: coaching, team-building, conflict resolution and management
    • Ability to handle uncertainty while continuing to drive assigned work with positive motivation and a can-do attitude
    • Builds trust among business partners and other IT professionals
    • Proven experience providing leadership to the scrum master team
    • Ability to step outside role confines, work independently when necessary and help teach and enable other team members
    • Ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment
    • Ability to present ideas and information in group setting
    • Capable of setting realistic deadlines and motivating team to achieve goals
    • Drives performance through effective use of influence and relationship
    • Strong understanding of agile principles and practices
    • Strong understanding of development process, including development, testing, and deployment, as well as user story creation, work breakdown, identifying dependencies, etc.
    • Strategic business focus and understanding; customer-focused perspective
    • Extensive organization, communication, and facilitation skills - able to interact credibly with senior leadership
    • Ability to create and deliver executive-level summary reports and presentations
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and organizational skills
    • Highly analytical, logical, and good problem-solving skills
    • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff

    Education & Years of Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years of work experience in Information Technology focused on implementing and delivering technology solutions in an agile environment
    • 5+ years’ experience in management/leadership
    • 6+ years’ experience in managing software development projects through the use of agile methodologies
    • CSM, PSM and/or ACP certification

    Preferred:

    • Experience leading companies through an agile transformation
    • Professional Agile Leadership Certification
    • Experience as an Agile Coach
