    The Software Development Manager will be responsible to lead a world-class software engineering team. This person will be responsible for leading a team of software engineers and software engineers in test (SDET) in the design, development, maintenance and test automation of business application software. The ideal candidate will have a proven record of strong leadership with high team engagement, a history of leading through collaboration, and a passion for technology. Areas of focus may include agile methodologies, DevOps, Salesforce.com, Java and node.js.

    We’re looking for people who:

    • Strong people development including: onboarding, training, mentoring, feedback, & development plans with the ability to coach and develop people for success
    • Collaborate effectively with the other leaders to support and execute the short and long term strategic plans for the IT division while using excellent communication skills, in a way that inspires excellence in performance, to gain team alignment to divisional and team strategies, goals and objectives
    • Lead software development engineers and SDETs to more efficiently and effectively design, build, test and deploy enterprise projects
    • Lead, coach and mentor engineers and SDETs to be more capable engineers
    • Work collaboratively with other team leaders to research emerging development and test automation technologies establishing new standards and evolve existing standards
    • Establish a collaborative, engineering driven team environment
    • Lead the creation and maintenance of automated tests to validate the system at various phases of the software development lifecycle (e.g., integration test suite, regression test suite, smoke test suite, etc.)
    • Influence stakeholders at both business and technical levels
    • Along with other software engineering managers, develop strategies to improve software development processes and product quality

    Your role.

    • Proficiency in one or more languages such as Java or node.js
    • Strong working knowledge of integration technologies and tools (web services, Rest services)
    • Experience mentoring software engineers and software engineers in test to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers
    • Experience with test automation frameworks and tools
    • Experience leading out on quality processes and metrics
    • Results oriented
    • Self-driven with a sense of urgency
    • Excellent verbal and written communication
    • Confidence to make decisions and influence all levels of management
    • Ability to lead through collaboration
    • Proven ability to clearly execute a vision and direction
    • Strong relationship building and collaboration skills with senior leaders throughout the organization
    • Customer service oriented
    • Proven team player

    Education & Years of Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or a related discipline required (or equivalent work experience)
    • At least 6 years of experience building/testing successful production software systems and/or developing/testing large scale software applications
    • 1-2 years of experience managing software engineers, including coaching, measuring job performance and developing the talents of team members
